Solo exhibition - A Ruína e o Vazio

"Ema Brum, who signs as Ǝrrar, was born in 1998 in the island of São Miguel, Azores. She completed her degree in Spatial Design at ESAD.cr, where she is currently taking the Fine Arts master's degree.
Her aim is to seek out and understand, through image, places in dissolution - abandoned spaces, city's outskirts and industrial spaces that have become obsolete and therefore empty. The works convey a state of 'sublimation' achieved while contemplating these spectral and elusive constructions.
Wandering through the city streets leads to empty and forgotten ruins, full of memories crystallized in the deafening silence of existence.
This solo exhibition is a selection of pieces created during the continuous investigation of the theme "Ruin and Emptiness". The images are the result of an exploration and deepening of alternative photographic processes, more specifically, the first photographic printing technique known as cyanotype."
